The Moon and Its Phases
Every reading at maroons.world is spoken under a particular moon. The phase of the moon is not decoration — in the Maroon tradition it sets the posture of the counsel: what to begin, what to build, what to face, and what to release.
New moon — the planting
The new moon is the dark sky and the first intention. Counsel given under a new moon leans toward beginnings: seeds, plans, first steps taken quietly before they are announced. If your reading comes under a new moon, expect its guidance to favour what you are starting over what you are finishing, and privacy over display. The ancestors plant in the dark so the root is strong before the shoot is seen.
Waxing moon — the building
As the moon grows, so does the work. The waxing moon is for effort, gathering, and repair: skills learned, money set aside, relationships tended while they can still be shaped. Readings in this phase speak practically — they point at the next task, the habit, the conversation that moves the matter one step forward. Momentum is the blessing of this moon; waste it and the counsel says so.
Full moon — the seeing
The full moon hides nothing. It is the phase of revelation: what has been growing — in love, in work, in a person's true character — stands in plain light. Full-moon readings tend to be the most direct. They name what is complete, what is exposed, and what can no longer be pretended away. Many sitters find the full moon's counsel bracing; that is its purpose. You asked, and the sky answered with the lights on.
Waning moon — the releasing
After the fullness comes the letting go. The waning moon governs endings done well: debts closed, grudges set down, chapters finished without bitterness. Counsel under this moon favours forgiveness — of others and of yourself — rest, and the clearing of ground. Not every loss is a defeat; the waning moon teaches which losses are harvests.
The moon and your questions
Your three questions meet the moon where it stands. A question about beginnings asked under a waning moon will be answered honestly — often by being turned toward the ending that makes the beginning possible. This is why no two readings are alike: your questions, your birth date, and the living moon combine once, for you, and never repeat.
